Huntington Beach remembers Andi Irons

Surfers and surf fans alike gathered at the huntington beach pier to remember Andi Irons, the former 3x asp world champ. Irons, 32, tragically passed while traveling from puerto rico to his home in hawaii after pulling out of a contest due to illness. Well over 1000 people attended a memorial for the former champ, which culminated in a traditional paddle out at the end of the hb pier.

Around the same time Kelly Slater secured his record 10th world title, dedicating his win to his staunchest rival and friend, AI.

RIP Andy Irons. Without question on of surfing's greatest athletes and competitors.
